How to: Assign new sounds to Windows 95 events.
Solution:
In the 'Control Panel' window, double-click the 'Sounds' icon, and select the appropriate event. Click 'Browse...', select the appropriate sound, and click 'OK' twice.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
3) Double-click the 'Sounds' icon. (The 'Sounds Properties' dialog box appears.)

4) Select an event from the 'Events' list box. (The event is highlighted.)

5) Do one of the following to assign a sound file:
a) Select a sound file from the 'Name' drop-down list in the 'Sound' group and click 'OK'.
b) Locate another sound file:
1] Click 'Browse...'. (The 'Browse for <event>' dialog box appears, where <event> is the selected event.)
2] In the 'Look in' drop-down list, select the drive where the sound file is saved.
3] Select the appropriate folder and click 'OK'.
4] (Optional) Click 'Play' to preview the sound file.
5] Select the desired sound file and click 'OK'.

6) (Optional) Save the current sound assignments as a new scheme:
7) (Optional) Select a preset sound scheme from the drop-down list in the 'Schemes' group.
8) Click 'OK' to close the 'Sounds Properties' dialog box.
9) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close' to close the 'Control Panel' window.
